Launch & Maintenance for Shopware 6

A branded maintenance page that protects your SEO, and a proper launch with a coming-soon page and scheduled maintenance windows

Launch & Maintenance

Shopware's default maintenance page is generic, and anyone who builds their own into the theme finds it disappears exactly when the theme breaks. The free edition ships its own branded page that renders independently of your theme and behaves properly towards search engines: HTTP 503, Retry-After and noindex. The paid plugin, Launch & Maintenance, adds the launch: an indexable coming-soon page with a countdown and email sign-up that opens the shop by itself at the launch moment, preview access without IP lists, and scheduled maintenance windows that put the shop in and out of maintenance automatically, per sales channel or shop-wide.

What the free edition does

  • Own branded maintenance page that renders independently of your theme, even when theme compilation fails
  • SEO-correct: HTTP 503 with Retry-After and default noindex, follow, so your rankings stay intact
  • 'Expected back at' time per sales channel drives the Retry-After header for crawlers and monitors
  • Everything in the admin: heading, lead, icon, launch badge, social CTA and SEO meta (incl. Open Graph) per sales channel
  • Auto-reload at a configurable interval (10 s minimum, enforced server-side); visitors need not refresh themselves
  • No cookies, no tracking; three languages (NL, EN, DE) with snippet fallbacks; backup and restore of settings

Open source under the MIT licence, installed directly via Composer, with no registration and no licence key. This edition is frozen: it gets no new features, but it does get security and compatibility fixes until at least December 2032. Existing installs keep working.

Launch & Maintenance in the Shopware Store

One plugin with everything in it: all the free edition does, and on top of that:

  • Coming-soon page with a countdown to your launch moment: HTTP 200 and indexable, with its own title, description and Open Graph
  • Email sign-up on that page, with double opt-in: to your Newsletter list when that plugin is active, otherwise to its own launch list
  • Goes live by itself at the launch moment; every request compares that moment with the clock, so a missed scheduled task never keeps the shop closed
  • Preview access without IP lists: a password per sales channel, or a signed link with an expiry date for colleagues and clients
  • Schedule maintenance windows: start and end time per sales channel or shop-wide; maintenance switches on and off itself, with a 'back at' countdown
  • Checked every minute, written only on a transition; manual changes hold until the next window boundary
  • Pre-stage without arming and stack multiple windows, e.g. a shop-wide patch window next to a window for one brand
  • Manage in the admin: create, edit and delete windows; warning on an invalid interval
  • Export all windows and settings (including the free edition's) as one JSON file; your data stays yours

You rent the plugin monthly or yearly through the Shopware Store, with the Store's free trial month. No add-on, no licence key, nothing else to install.

Moving from the free edition keeps your settings and data. Uninstall the free edition with the option to keep its data; on installation the paid plugin takes over the configuration and tables, and tells you if you forget that step.

Works with the rest of the range

Plugins of the range detect each other and connect automatically when they are installed together, for example newsletter sign-ups from the launch page or encyclopedia pages as a dimension in Analytics. Each plugin also works on its own; nothing is gated behind buying another one.

Requirements

  • Shopware: 6.7
  • PHP: 8.1+

Support

For the paid plugin through the Shopware Store's ticket system. For the free edition through the issues of the Bitbucket repository; security reports as described in the repository's SECURITY.md.

Data and privacy

The free edition stores only the page copy and settings per sales channel in the Shopware configuration and processes no visitor data (no cookies; analytics is off on this page). The paid plugin keeps your scheduled windows (name, sales channel, start and end time, optional banner text) in the tb_mpro_window table and toggles the free edition's maintenance flag. Sign-ups on the coming-soon page go, with double opt-in, to your Newsletter list when that plugin is active, otherwise to its own launch list (tb_mpro_launch_signup). Nothing goes to third parties.

Quality

PHPStan level 8, PHPUnit and PHP-CS-Fixer as quality gates per repository. Documentation, changelogs and snippets in Dutch, English and German. No advertisements or upgrade prompts inside the Shopware Administration.
